Issues #5 (Flirt) by Nicole Clarke

Genre: Fiction + Teens

About:A group of totally different girls thinking their internship with the grandest Flirt magazine was over, were called to stay on for another year. But will financial woes, school and parental pressure get in the way of the Flirt girls' dreams?

My Review: Wow. Its been quite a while since i've touched a chick reads. (like the Shopaholic series, Sweet Valley..) Its kind of a nice feeling reading about other chicks' dreams and their mini struggles. Especially in a time like this. I kind of suspect this book is for teenagers but heck i love the cover. :p A good book to lift any girls out there with hopeless spirit.

My Rating: 4.5/5

Rape: A Love Story by Joyce Carol Oates

Genre: Fiction

About: A story of the brutality and cowardice that overloads the city of Niagara Falls in the aftermath of an attack on a woman and her young daughter.

My Review: Absolutely heart-breakingly beautiful. You can sense the rapport between reader and character as they tell their story and pour out their feelings. Wonderfully "touching".

My Rating: 4.5/5
