Doctor Death by Jonathan Kellerman

Genre: Crime Thriller

About: The death of a certain doctor turned self-proclaimed mercy killer brought about questions surrounding his murder. However it is not all easy as LA cop Milo Sturgis and hhis psychologist friend, Alex Delaware, venture to solve the case. But how could they when they're so many people wanting the victim dead?

My Review: One of my favourite authors. It has a lot of twists and many events to make the plot exciting. Seriously it keeps me guessing who murdered the doctor and i always ended up guessing it wrong. And i love the way Kellerman constructs this one mystery to uncover yet another mystery. Brilliant. I like.

My Rating: 4/5

The Calligraphers' Night by Yasmine Ghata

Genre: Biographical Fiction

About: A bigraphical fiction based on the author's grandmother who is a calligrapher.

My Review: Exceptionally gorgeous. The vivid descriptions practically illustrates the elegant movement of the qalam and the ink forming a lyrically beautiful story. You see the calligrapher's life within these pages. Her struggles as a woman, wife and mother. Almost brought to life.

My Rating: 4/5

Knots & Crosses by Ian Rankin

Genre: Crime Thriller

About: Knots have been appearing in Inspector Rebus's mails. Little did he know, its a main lead to solving the gruesome cases plaguing Edinburgh and finding the suspect. However, it also leads to a much sinister conlusion- Rebus's history.

My Review: The tightly weaved plot serves to communicate the tension in the story. I love the way the story brings it all down to one person. The huge responsibility and the ignorance ever present in makind: "It will not happen to me". So yeah. Cool.

My Rating: 4/5

Quote: "And in Edinburgh of all place. I mean, you never think that sort of thing happening in Endinburgh, do you?"

A Demon In My View by Ruth Rendell

Genre: Mystery

About: The quirky lives of the tenants at 142 Trinity Road.

My Review: This book grips me from the start. It has an interesting mix of characters. Psychotic, anal-retentive and definitely worth delving into. I gasp at the ending. Its a wholesome experience really.

My Rating: 4.5/5
