The Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi

Genre: Satire

About: Kureishi's famous novel of sexual, racial and cultural liberation in 1970s south London needs little introduction. It still retains its charm as a touching and amusing tale of growing up in a chaotic time of change.

My Review: Its...readable. Seems like the Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston, though this novel looks on the lighter side of cross cultures. And indeed some serious consequences. A good laugh with serious reflections. :)

My Rating: 4/5
